QUICK GUIDE
TURNING ON THE DEVICE
To turn on the devce, rotate the On/O knob to ON. Turn the same knob to OFF poston when you want to turn
o the devce. When the devce s turned on, a melody wll be heard and approxmately 10 seconds later you wll
hear a long beep ndcatng that the devce s ready to use.
The devce wll provde more depth at on poston. However, to better dscrmnate ferrous metals, usng the
devce n mneral modes and the ron dscrmnaton at maxmum poston s recommended.
GROUND BALANCE
Especally n mneralzed ground target sgnal s negatvely aected by the ''nose'' caused by ground
mneralzaton. Ths stuaton may prevent the detector from gettng a clean sgnal from the target necessary for
metal detecton and accurate dscrmnaton. Ground balancng s a process through whch the metal detector
s able to cancel out the negatve eects caused by ground mneralzaton.
To ground balance, holdng the search col 5cm. above the ground, sweep t rght and left, keepng t parallel to
the ground and slowly turn the ground balance knob clockwse untl the nose s gone and the devce s slent.
If you cannot ground balance the detector, gradually decrease the senstvty and repeat the above steps.
For maxmum depth, do not turn the ground balance knob to the rght more than necessary. Generally
speakng, the md-level (between 4 - 7) oers the most deal and stable detecton capablty on derent types
of ground wthout sacrfcng depth.
As the ground balance goes nto the rght area, the devce wll start losng depth for some non-ferrous metals except for gold. When the
ground balance settng reaches the maxmum pont the devce wll detect ron and gold but t wll not detect some non-ferrous metals.
If you are searchng on a ground loaded wth mneralzed stones or dps and holes, t s recommended to ground balance over one of these
stones or the holes.
In areas of very hgh mneralzaton, ground balance may not be sucent. In such a case, you may need to use the mneral search modes.
SENSITIVITY
Senstvty settng s used to elmnate nterferences caused by electromagnetc waves n the surroundng
envronment or ground nose. Electromagnetc waves may result from power lnes n the surroundng
envronment or from the operaton of electrcal devces, radars, wreless rados, and even TVs.
Senstvty s also the depth settng for the devce. Therefore, especally n hgh mneralzaton, t s
recommended that you lower t only f the devce s stll gettng nose after you adjust all the other settngs
(ground balance, ron dscrmnaton and mneral modes).

IRON DISCRIMINATION
Ths settng s desgned for tough ground condtons and experenced users. For normal ground condtons or f
you do not want to bother wth ths settng t s recommended that you keep t at the factory settng (FS).
Ths settng has 2 man purposes:
1) Especally n areas of hgh ron mneralzaton and wet beach sand you may not be able to ground balance the
devce. In such a case, you can use ron dscrmnaton. By turnng the ron dscrmnaton knob to the rght, you
can enable the ground eect to be reected as ron and elmnate t by turnng the ron swtch o.
In general, when searchng n wet salt water beach sand, the most deal settngs are the maxmum level of the ron dscrmnaton, ron swtch o and
mneral 2 or 3 modes. You can also use these settngs when searchng n wet plowed land wth hgh ron eect.
2) It enables metals contanng ron to produce a low tone and to be dscrmnated more easly. Dscrmnaton starts at about level 4 - 6. Below ths
level, all metals ncludng ron wll produce a non-ferrous (hgh) tone and generally speakng the devce wll perform at ts maxmum depth. In
addton, ron swtch wll not be actve below ths level.
As mentoned before, especally on grounds wth hgh ron content such as wet salt water beach sand and wet plowed land, t s
recommended that you search n mneral 2 or 3 mode, brng the ron dscrmnaton to maxmum level and turn the ron swtch o.
IRON DISC.
MINERAL MODES
Mneral Modes: If you are searchng on hgh mneralzed ground (extremely salty sol, wet beach sand, wet
plowed land or hghly magnetc ground condtons) you may not be able to ground balance the devce. In such
a case, frst turn the On/O knob to mneral 1. If the devce s stll gettng nose, turn t to mneral 2 or mneral 3.
Ths wll elmnate the nose and false sgnals caused by mneralzaton. However, you may experence a
decrease or fadng n the sgnal obtaned from certan metals at maxmum depths.
IRON SWITCH
When you want to avod detectng ferrous metals you can turn the ron swtch o and enable the devce to
elmnate these metals and not produce a warnng tone.
NOTE: Many metals consdered to be trash may not produce a ferrous metal sgnal. For example, pull tabs may
be sensed as a non-ferrous metal by most detectors because ther sgnal s very smlar to that of gold.
